Marcela Rettig  (Spanish/Español)

Born on January 30, 1959, in Buenos Aires.

She started during childhood, at the studio of Luisa Reisner, where she continued until her teenage years. She studied painting with C. Esperoni and graduated as Professor of Drawing and Painting from the "Prilidiano Pueyrredón" National School of Fine Arts. In 1982 she started studying for the Professor of Etching degree at the same school.

The following years she participated in some exhibits with other artists from Ituzaingó and started teaching at her atelier.

In 2000 she went on a trip to Italy and France to study and, at her return, she started painting again.

In 2001 she traveled to Spain and Morocco and, at that point, she added the landscapes to her list of subjects. After this trip, she started to participate in many collective shows and exhibits, receiving some mentions and awards.

In 2003, she started exhibiting in Gallery Espacio Ag, and in 2004 she presented her first individual show "Nuestra Puna", with good reception by the critics and public.

Since 2005 she exhibited in many shows and galleries, individual and collective, including Gallery Nights since 2009. Her work started to be acquired by national and foreign collections.

At present, she continues painting and teaching at her atelier in Ituzaingó.
